Here’s how Sun Bank (or, more accurately, a bunch of scammers pretending to be Sun Bank) get your money.

All seems well as they seemingly set up a “real” bank account for you.

But look carefully.

There’s an unspecified minimum deposit amount.

Not only will you never see this money again, but if you’re stupid enough, they will ask for more fees – which you’ll happily pay as “you’ve already paid so much” – one of the most common ways of gettign more funds from you.

This is a scam designed to charge you fees for “releasing” non existent money.

The Sunday Times today reports a claim from a senior member of the Qatari royal family over an alleged £40 million pounds fraud at Barclays Bank.

They said a billionaire Sheikh, a member of Qatar’s ruling Al Thani family, claims that “gross negligence by Barclays” allowed an employee of the Sheikh to siphon off about £3 million a month from a personal account in Spain.

Barclays declined to comment on the issue – which is not surprising, as they were hoping to borrow rather a lot of money from Qatar later this week …
